Is Your Gas Tank half Empty or Half Full?

Option 1

Pour a cup of hot water over the side of the tank.

Then feel down the side of the tank with your hand.

Near the top it will feel hot, as you go down the tank it will get colder.

At the point the tank changes temperature, that is the level of the gas in the tank.

See you don't need to put one of those $5 adhesive gauges on Swap n Go tank!

 Gas Bottle

Option 2

If it is your bottle, weigh it empty and write the weight on tank with permanent marker. You can check this against the empty or "tare weight" (TW) stamped on the tank collar - about 7.95kg for a 9/8.5kg bottle.

Fill the tank and weigh it again.

If you swap bottles, weigh the tank when you get home and subtract the Tare Weight on the rim. Write the weight on the bottle or label with permanent marker. In the example about the "full" weight should be around 17kg (9kg gas + 8kg Tare Weight). Weight the bottle occasionally to se how much is left.

Perfect Pork Crackling Every Time

The secret to perfect crackling is dry skin (eat your heat out L'Oreal)

Make sure the skin is scored.

Store your roast in the fridge over night, this lets the skin dry out.

Before roasting, pat the skin dry with paper towels and then sprinkle generously with salt to absorb moisture

If all else fails: when the meat has finished roasting, cut off the crackling put the meat to one side to rest then put the crackling under a hot grill for a few minutes each side until it crisps up
